Smootv free trial: how to get the most out of 24 hours
The Smootv free trial gives you 24 hours of the full service on one screen, with no card and nothing that renews. That is plenty of time, as long as you test the right things at the right moment. The short version: start the trial in the late afternoon, test during the evening peak between 20:00 and 22:00, try every device you plan to use, and check the programme guide and the on-demand library as well as live TV.
- 24 hours, full service
- No card, nothing renews
- One trial per household
§ 001 — When to start
When to start your Smootv trial
Start the Smootv trial around 16:00 or 17:00 on a day you normally watch TV. Then the evening peak, when networks are busiest, falls inside your 24 hours, and you can test again the next morning.
Avoid starting late at night: you'd sleep through half the test and miss the busiest hours, which are exactly the hours that show whether a service holds up.
§ 002 — Prepare
Prepare before the Smootv trial starts
- Install HOT IPTV Player (first choice) or IBO Player on the device you'll test; see the Smootv installation guide.
- Run a speed test on that device. About 25 Mbps is enough for HD and about 50 Mbps for 4K.
- If possible, connect the TV or box with a network cable, or move it to the 5 GHz WiFi network.
- Make a short list of what you actually watch: the sports disciplines, the countries' channels, the series and films you'd look for.
- Ask Smootv for the trial on WhatsApp or Telegram and mention the device; we send the right steps with your login.
§ 003 — What to test
What to test during the Smootv trial
| Test | How | What good looks like |
|---|---|---|
| Evening stability | Watch live TV for an hour between 20:00 and 22:00 | No freezes; channels change in a second or two |
| Live sport | Watch a live event in the discipline you follow | Stable picture through the whole match or race |
| Programme guide | Open the guide and scroll a few days ahead | Programme names and times load for the channels you watch |
| On-demand library | Search for a film and a series you know | Playback starts quickly; you can pause and rewind |
| Picture quality | Compare HD and, on a 4K setup, 4K | Sharp picture that suits your screen |
| Second device | Log in on your phone or a second TV | Works the same (one screen at a time on a personal plan) |
| Support | Send us a question in the chat | A real person answers, usually within minutes, 9:00–21:00 CET |
§ 004 — If something's off
If something isn't right during your Smootv trial
Tell us straight away rather than waiting until the end. Most trial problems are settings on the device or the network, and we fix them in the chat while you watch. The usual causes:
- Freezing in the evening: WiFi signal or a 2.4 GHz network; try a cable or 5 GHz.
- Login refused: a typo or extra space; copy the details exactly or let us add them.
- Empty programme guide: it is still loading on first start; give it two minutes, then refresh it in the app.
- A specific channel or event: ask us before you subscribe; we answer straight, yes or no.
§ 005 — After the trial
After the Smootv trial: what happens next
When the 24 hours end, the trial simply stops. Nothing is charged and nothing renews. If you want to continue, message us and choose a plan: €11 for one month, €69 for twelve months (€5.75 a month), or a Family plan from €129 a year for 2 to 5 screens at once. Your login stays the same, so you don't need to set anything up again.
